The Citizen Project is a casual collection of artists and designers with an interest in exploring representations of the American socio-political landscape. This project centered around a primary symbol of the United States: the national flag. Each participant created a silkscreened poster that conveyed their perspective on current American themes. Brian Edlefson’s design makes the viewer an implicit part of the design by printing the flag on a reflective substrate. The resulting poster forces people to literally see themselves in the stars and stripes of the United States flag; eliminating notions of a homogeneous american person.
